What are your office hours?

Our office is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm EST.

When do your tours operate?

Tours run year-around. No tours run on the following blackout dates: July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Day.

Do you offer discounted tickets for children or seniors?

Yes.

Do your tours have age restrictions?

All ages are welcome on our tours. Please keep in mind that children will be expected to walk/stand for the duration of the tour. Email us here with inquiries about specific tour content.

How physically intensive are your tours?

All of our tours are less than two miles long and are generally appropriate for all ages and fitness levels.

Is smoking allowed on the tour?

We maintain a no smoking policy on our tours.

Do tour guides accept gratuities?

Gratuities are accepted and greatly appreciated.

Are cameras allowed on the tours?

Yes! In fact, we strongly encourage participants to take photos during our tours. We do not allow video cameras or tape recorders without pre-approval. Cameras, video cameras, and tape recorders are not allowed in churches. Don't forget to tag us on social media: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest.

Do you offer tours in languages other than English?

We only do Spanish, Italian, and French.

Will I need a MetroCard?

Some of our tours require a MetroCard. Please check the tour description or your booking confirmation for details about a specific tour.

Are your tours wheelchair-accessible?

The Harlem Gospel Tour and the NYC Slavery and Underground Railroad Tour are wheelchair-accessible.

Are dogs allowed on tours?

We do not allow pets on tours. However, service animals are welcome. Please let us know in advance to advise the guide.

What is the capacity of your tours?

Walking tours have a limited capacity of 25 - 35 people per tour, so we advise you to book in advance.

Where can I leave a review of the guide or tour?

Booking Process

Do I have to purchase/reserve tickets in advance?

Yes, advance ticket purchase/reservation is required. Our tours sell out quickly, so please book well in advance.

Does my reservation have to be paid in full?

Yes, prepayment is required.

Can I get a refund or partial credit?

As reservations guarantee your space on a tour, we do not offer refunds or partial credit. Our tours often sell out. It is your responsibility to arrive at the departure location on time.

Can I reschedule my reservation?

Cancellations made with a minimum of 48 hours advance notice will receive the opportunity to reschedule. All requests must be put in writing and received by us. Please email us here.

If a tour is sold out, do you provide a wait list?

We do not have a formal wait list. However, if a particular date and time is sold out, we may add an additional tour on that day. We ask that you email us here if you are interested in reserving a place on a sold out tour.

I'm reserving tickets with an Attraction Pass (i.e. NY PASS, Explorer Pass, Flex Pass, or Build Your Own Pass). Why does it ask for credit card information?

Providing credit card information will secure your reservation. If you are an Attraction Pass holder, your card will not be charged unless you fail to show up for the tour without canceling in advance. We collect this information to ensure that customers fulfill their reservations. Our tour space is limited!

I am an Attraction Pass holder, which customer type do I select?

Select only the customer type that reflects the type of discount pass you possess. Please do not select Adult or Child. For example, if you are one adult NY PASS holder, select 1 for "New York Passes" and proceed with your booking.

It’s Your Tour Day

What happens in inclement weather?

Our tours run rain or shine. In the case of severe inclement weather, tours will be canceled and a full refund will be provided. Please email us here with questions regarding tour cancellation. You may also call 1-800-258-7359 between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm on Monday - Friday.

Where do tours meet?

All of our tours have different starting locations. Please check your booking confirmation for details about a specific tour.

What time should we arrive to a tour?

We suggest arriving at least 15 minutes before the departure time.

I'm running late! What should I do?

Once a tour has started we cannot delay for late arrivals or interrupt a tour guide so that latecomers may find them, as this adversely affects the tour experience for others. Please call 800-258-7359 and we will try our best to direct you to the next destination on the tour.

How should I dress for the tour?

Dress for the day's weather and wear comfortable walking shoes--you will be on your feet for most of the tour! If you are taking a tour that includes a church visit, please dress appropriately and refrain from wearing flip-flops, tank tops, or shorts.

I was denied entry into the church. Why did this occur?

Appropriate attire for gospel tours is required. We reserve the right to refuse service to customers dressed improperly and will not offer a refund.

Do I have to stay for the entire service on the NYC Gospel Walking Tour?

Due to the popularity and policies of the church, customers who want to sit in the main sanctuary where the choir performs must stay for the entire service (2 hours). If you cannot stay for the entire service, we suggest you take our Harlem Gospel Experience Tour instead.

What will I need at check-in?

Your booking confirmation. If you are a discount pass holder, please bring your pass as well.

Are there restrooms on your tour?

We highly suggest that customers use the restroom ahead of time. Not all of our tours include restroom stops.

Am I allowed to bring food and beverages on the tour?

You are welcome to bring bottled water and small snacks.
