Our New York City tours run year-round.
No tours run on the following blackout dates: Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.

All ages are welcome on our tours. Please keep in mind that children will be expected to walk/stand for the duration of the tour. Email us here with inquiries about specific tour content.

All of our tours are less than two miles long and are generally appropriate for all ages and fitness levels. We also offer Virtual Experiences.

We maintain a no smoking policy on our tours.

Yes! In fact, we strongly encourage participants to take photos during our tours. We do not allow video cameras or tape recorders without pre-approval. Cameras, video cameras, and tape recorders are not allowed in churches. During your visit, you may be videotaped or photographed by an Inside Out Tours employee or authorized guest. Your reservation serves as permission for use of your image by these parties.

The Harlem Gospel Tour, Alternative New York Street Art Tour: Lower East Side, and the NYC Slavery and Underground Railroad Tour are wheelchair-accessible.

We do not allow pets on tours. However, service animals are welcome. Please let us know in advance to advise the guide.

Walking tours have a limited capacity of 25 – 35 people per tour, so we advise you to book in advance.

Booking Process

Yes, advance ticket purchase/reservation is required. Our tours sell out quickly, so please book well in advance.

Yes, prepayment is required.

As reservations guarantee your space on a tour, we do not offer refunds or partial credit. Our tours often sell out. It is your responsibility to arrive at the departure location on time.

Reschedule requests must be made with a minimum of 48 hours’ advance notice and will receive the opportunity to reschedule based on the availability. All requests must be put in writing and received by us. Please email us at sales@insideouttours.com.

We do not have a formal wait list. However, if a particular date and time is sold out, we may add an additional tour on that day. We ask that you email us here if you are interested in reserving a place on a sold out tour.

Select only the customer type that reflects the type of discount pass you possess. Please do not select Adult or Child. For example, if you are one adult NY PASS holder, select 1 for “New York Passes” and proceed with your booking. Children are considered from ages 5 – 11. Children under 5 do not pay.

Our tours run rain or shine. In the case of severe inclement weather, tours will be canceled and a full refund will be provided. Please email us here with questions regarding tour cancellation. You may also call 1-800-258-7359 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Monday – Friday.

We suggest arriving at least 15 minutes before the departure time.

Once a tour has started we cannot delay for late arrivals or interrupt a tour guide so that latecomers may find them, as this adversely affects the tour experience for others. Please call 800-258-7359 and we’ll do our best to help you.

Dress for the day’s weather and wear comfortable walking shoes–you will be on your feet for most of the tour! If you are taking a tour that includes a church visit, please dress appropriately and refrain from wearing flip-flops, tank tops, or shorts.

It depends on the tours. Most of our walking tours do not require you to wear masks except the Secrets of the Statue of Liberty Tour (required by the ferry company) and the Harlem Gospel Experience Tour (required by the church).

Yes, all our reservations and payments are via our website. When you check-in, we review the reservation list for your information extending a contactless experience.

Yes, our guides maintain 6 or more feet of distance from all guests. We also ask each party to remain 6 or more feet apart from others.

Appropriate attire for gospel tours is required. We reserve the right to refuse service to customers dressed improperly and will not offer a refund.

Your booking confirmation. If you are a discount pass holder, please bring your pass as well.

We highly suggest that customers use the restroom ahead of time. Not all of our tours include restroom stops.

You are welcome to bring bottled water and small snacks.
