“The Alternative Art Tour was awesome. The guide was knowledgeable and skilled in presenting the information on an ever changing landscape of street art. I would recommend this to anyone without hesitation”
“What a wonderful tour guide … turned out to be. A fountain of knowledge with a magnificent voice breaking out in song when informing us about the source of gospel music. With so much enthusiasm from our guide, how could we not have had the best time! The service in the Brooklyn Tabernacle was such a highlight, the singing lives on forever. Great tour.”
“This tour was interesting, full of information and amazing. It was wonderful to be armed with the history of gospel before being born away by the choir and soloists at the service. Our guide … was wonderful and she clearly loved her job. She shared not only her beautiful voice but hey soul add well. This tour is a MUST and i think it will stay with me for a long time.”
“Fascinating and informative tour, included general info about NY history and the history of slavery, and a pleasant not too strenuous walk around Lower Manhattan. The conclusion was very powerful as well. Guide …, with an advanced degree in History, knew his material, and answered numerous follow-up and other questions with detail and depth. Great tour!”
“We prebooked the tour via internet for our long- awaited first trip to New York early March 2016 via New York Pass. The address and tour details received by mail were very good, we found the guide … immediately and spent a wonderful 2.5 hours exploring Brooklyn Bridge and DUMBO neighbourhoods. Very personal and interesting by a Brooklyn fan ;o) highly enjoyable and recommendable.”
“We did the NYC Gospel Walking Tour on Sunday November 9th. Although guide … had no voice he succeeded in explaining everything about gospel and Brooklyn Heights. He even sang (hard to do without a voice) and let us sing to get into the spirit of gospel. Great tour, great expercience, great host ! Thanks ! We’ll be back !”
“This walking tour was outstanding. [The Tour Guide] was able to masterfully balance the conversational heaviness of slavery with the positive energy of the railroad and its supporters. It is informative, allows you to see a little of the city, and enjoyable. I would recommend this walking tour to anyone who lives in or visits NYC.”
“My daughter and I had a wonderful time with the alternative arts walking tour in Brooklyn. Our tour guide was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable and made me view streets arts in a very new way. We had a plenty of time to take photographs. It was really a neat way of learning more about New York. I also liked that we stopped at a local coffee shop. It was nice to relax a bit, participate in the local economy, and have a chance to sit down. We had two other walkings tours, which were all very good, and wish that there was this component of stopping at a coffee shop at each tour.”
“I took the alternative street art tour … . It was fantastic-we saw so many wonderful images through Brooklyn and Williamsburg. [The Tour Guide] was so informative, and inquisitive (welcoming info from locals as we went) and guided a large group safely (we strayed on the roads to take photos and she constantly reminded us to be safe). She gave us a wonderful history to street art and of the artists whose work we got to see- loved!! Was a good idea to bring a snack although we did stop at a cafe for restroom and drinks- felt good to give back to a local business as we wandered their sidewalks.”
“We have just come back from the Brooklyn Bridge & Dumbo walking tour. We had a great, very knowledgeable, polite and informative guide … . Really really worth the money, yes you can see the bridge and even walk it, but the guide told about the history and the stories of the bridge and the Dumbo area. I can’t recommend it enough, a must do! As well a nice chocolate shop stop!”
